Our Data Protection & Privacy Policy
This is our data protection and privacy policy that explains who we are, how we process your personal data, procedures that we have in place to safeguard your privacy whilst you use our website, what rights you have, and how to contact us if you need to.
We are committed to respecting and protecting your online privacy. It is important to us to safeguard your personal information and to be transparent about what personal information we hold and how we use your information.
Who we are
Instant Apostle is a UK-based pioneering publishing house seeking to bring new and existing authors to the market to respond to the urgent social issues of our day. We publish books written from a Christian perspective, but which are relevant to those of any faith and none. Our publications cross all genres, from autobiographies and fantasy fiction, to life ministry and academic titles.
Instant Apostle (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is a “data controller” for the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (“Data Protection Law”). This means that we are responsible for and control the processing of your personal information (which means information that identifies you or could identify you). For full details about how to get in touch with us see the “Contact Us” section.
This privacy policy refers to the Instant Apostle website instantapostle.com. By visiting Instant Apostle, you are accepting and consenting to the practices described in this privacy policy.
In return, Instant Apostle is committed to using the personal data you provide only in ways that are compatible with the following privacy policy and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018.
What personal information do we collect?
Information you give us:
When you register with our mailing list, we need to know your email address and, optionally, your name. This information allows us to fulfil your request to receive our Instant Apostle newsletters. For our newsletters we use a third-party provider, MailChimp, which participates in and has certified its compliance with the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework. Their privacy policy is available at https://mailchimp.com/legal/privacy/.
We will only send you emails if you have opted in to our Instant Apostle newsletter. If you wish to stop receiving some or all of the information that we currently send, you may amend your preferences or remove yourself from the mailing list by clicking on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of your emails and following the instructions provided. If you have any queries about how to use the mailing preference system, please email us at info@instantapostle.com.
The emails we send can track, at an individual level, whether the user has opened and clicked on the email. We do not use this information at a personal level, rather we use it to understand open and click rates on our emails to try and improve them.
Information we automatically collect:
We receive and store certain types of information whenever you interact with us. For example, like many websites, our site uses cookies and other technologies to function effectively.
When you visit our website, your browser sends us your IP address, which – as per standard industry practice – is kept in website server logs.
We use these logs to monitor how the site is being used, and to detect security issues.
These logs are deleted automatically; the previous month’s logs are deleted automatically at the end of each month.
We also use Google Analytics to analyse how our website performs. However, we do not capture any personal information in Google Analytics – in particular, IP addresses are anonymised before being sent to Google Analytics.
You may choose to prevent this website from aggregating and analyzing the actions you take here. Doing so will protect your privacy, but will also prevent the owner from learning from your actions and creating a better experience for you and other users.
