Andy is an ordained minister and has planted two churches and three missional communities, and is the Programme Director for ForMission College: Together in Mission’s Undergraduate Theology and Mission degree programmes.
In 2009, he completed his doctorate on ‘A Theology of Spiritual Formation and Prophetic Ministry’. He also has Masters degrees in ‘Counselling and Missiology and Evangelism’, and is currently undertaking a second doctorate researching the spiritual formation of students undertaking theology for ministry.
Andy has written a number of books including Pictures of God: Shaping Missional Church Life (Instant Apostle) and co-authored Power and the Powers: The Use and Abuse of Power in its Missional Context and Forming Multicultural Partnerships: Church Planting in a Divided Society (Instant Apostle), which have both been written with other members of the ForMission Faculty.
Alongside Andy’s role at ForMission, he continues to be involved in leading grassroots missional communities and is the Chair of Trustees of Sawiyan – a local charity that delivers education and community cohesion projects in the Sparkbrook area of Birmingham.
