David Bailey was born in 1942 in the village of Adbaston in Staffordshire and moved the short distance to Knighton in 1949. He attended Eccleshall Secondary Modern School and left in 1957, aged 15. He secured an apprenticeship in Stafford and thus embarked on an engineering career, which was to last for 31 years. He married Gillian in 1967 and they had three children together – Sue, Christine and Steve – all married and Christine and Steve produced six grandchildren between them.
In 1988, David began training for the Baptist Ministry and served as Minister in Chesterfield Baptist Church, Derbyshire, for thirteen years, retiring in 2005. Since then he has focussed his retirement on writing, producing numerous picture book stories, children’s novels, adult novels and a couple of nonfiction adult manuscripts.
Two children’s novels have been published, The Storm in 2016 and The Dream in 2018.
