Heather was born in a castle in Scotland. Well, technically it was a castle turned maternity hospital in the grounds of Stirling University, but as a child she always liked to tell of her royal roots! Most of her childhood was spent in a Scottish village, though she also spent time in Germany and the United States, very different places that sparked her imagination. She studied law at Oxford, where she met her husband and came to the conclusion that law was probably not for her after all. They currently live in Manchester, having collected four children, a daughter-in-law and a little white cat along the way.
Inspired by C S Lewis’ Narnia stories and the brilliant way they communicate, she was led to write herself. Her passion lies with children and the childlike adventurer in us all.
She is soon to publish the third book in the Lucy Butterfly series and continues to work on other projects.
