Heidi was born in a town near Zurich, the German speaking part of Switzerland, where she grew up in a church-going protestant family. After school she trained as a hairdresser and worked in Guernsey to learn English, before changing profession and working in various positions across Switzerland and France, where she also learnt French.
Just before her thirtieth birthday, Heidi became a Christian while living in Zurich where she attended a free evangelical church, and in her spare time worked with an interdenominational ministry reaching out to people with drug problems. In 1988, she came to England to study at Redcliff Bible College in cross-cultural mission and since then has been working with City Gates Church in Soho, leading a ministry visiting women who work in prostitution in Soho and Mayfair.
Apart from sharing the love of Jesus with the women she meets through the Soho and Mayfair ministry, Heidi very much enjoys travelling and takes great pleasure and delight in God’s beautiful creation when she gets the opportunity to take walks in woods and countryside. Heidi thoroughly enjoys visiting the mountains in Switzerland and, in the summer, believes that swimming in the wonderful lake of Zurich is an absolute must!
