A second-generation immigrant’s life transformed
Highlights identity questions facing second-generation kids

How to find true satisfaction
An invitation to embrace God’s love and walk in intimacy with Him
Second-generation immigrant David Harris turned his back on his parents’ Christian faith and values as he adopted the materialistic, empty side of modern British culture and pursued a hedonistic lifestyle. But when he was suddenly brought face to face with his own mortality, things changed.
He wrote Rescue to show that there is a God who loves us deeply and desires an intimate and personal relationship with humanity. It is the dramatic account of how his life was transformed by a Spirit-filled encounter with Jesus Christ – an encounter that is available to everyone.
Being made aware of the awesome reality of Christ, David was rescued from empty self-indulgence to pursue God with everything he had. Passionately convinced that Jesus is the only One able to rescue, David teaches how we can all intimately experience Christ and shares faith-building examples from his own life.
David Harris says: ‘The purpose of the book is to share my testimony and experience of how I came to know and give my heart to Jesus. It is mainly written for believers; however, there is a two-fold purpose, the second being that those who do not know Christ may come into a living experience of Him. As you read through these pages, I only ask for you to keep your heart open to Jesus; He is looking to touch us far more than we can ever comprehend. This is my story and testimony of going from death to life through a living encounter with God Himself. May you come to recognise the grace and goodness of Jesus, to whom I have given my heart; only He can truly satisfy our hearts with a love that cannot be found anywhere else in this life. Everything God wishes to accomplish through us needs to come through an overflow of our relationship with Him. When we prioritise Jesus and give Him first place in our hearts, we will realise that He is more than anything we could have asked for to begin with.’
Let Rescue inspire you to press in for all that God desires for you and serve as a guide to encountering Him more deeply.
